Appointed as Judge of the Regional Appellate Labor Court of the First Region in September 1981, according to the Constitutional Fifth rule, by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB). He was the Chairman of the Second Panel from 1985 to 1986 and between 1992 and 1995. He also chaired the Panel Specialized in Collective Disputes between 1995 and 1996. With regard to the elected offices of this Regional Court, he took office as a Disciplinary Judge between 1989 and 1990 and as the Presiding Judge of this Court between 1991 and 1992. He served as an Assigned Judge at the Superior Labor Court, temporarily, as of October 1995, due to the retirement of the Honorable Judge Hylo Gurgel. He was a Full Member of the Internal Regulations Commission between 2003 and 2005. He was the Chairman of the 4th Panel of the Regional Appellate Labor Court of the 1st Region (TRT-1) at the time of his retirement. Nowadays, he is a consultant to Barreto Advogados.
